Las Vegas Westgate Partners with Lodge Casino Black Hawk

The largest sportsbook in the world, Las Vegas Westgate, is partnering with the Lodge Casino in Black Hawk to bring its extensive offerings to the people of Colorado.

Westgate is an iconic sportsbook

Westgate is the largest sportsbook in the world located inside the 30,000 square feet Westgate Resort and Casino. The resort is just a block away from the Las Vegas Strip and hosts hundreds of monitors and television sets to provide a truly immersive gambling experience to the viewers. The SuperBook takes sports betting to new heights.

Now the same experience can be had in the state of Colorado as well. Sports betting will become legal in the state on May 1. At the time, SuperBook will venture outside of its home state of Nevada for the first time and partner with the Lodge Casino in Black Hawk. The announcement about the partnership was made this Monday.

The two partners aimed to launch a mobile betting app next month but their plans have been stalled because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The outbreak has led to the cancellation of all sporting events. However, their efforts to create a retail sportsbook at the Lodge Casino are still intact. This sportsbook will mirror the Las Vegas operation of SuperBook, albeit on a smaller scale. If the authorities relax social distancing norms by early fall, then the sportsbook will be ready to accept bets by the next football season.

Bringing an attractive option to Colorado

Vice president of race and sports at Westgate Resorts, Jay Kornegay, commented on the plans and said, “We’re going to make it as attractive, accessible and comfortable as we can. We hope to have a 360-degree experience between drinks, food and a great environment to watch games. That’s about as close as you can get to Vegas.”

Westgate may also expand its NFL SuperContest to Lodge Casino. The season-long competition draws thousands of participants into the sportsbooks each year. The entry fee is $1,500 and players get to pick five games each week against a spread. One point is awarded for each correct pick and half-point is awarded for every tie. The points leader after 17 regular seasons become the grand winner. Last year, the winner took home $1.46 million.

Colorado may not be able to match Vegas figures in the first year but it would hopefully be able to manage great numbers with the Westgate partnership as time passes by.
