Jack Casino Cincinnati Plans to Bring Back Employees as It Plans to Reopen

Cincinnati’s Jack Casino is preparing to open its gates for guests yet again on June 19. The property is now planning to bring hundreds of its employees back to work who were unemployed because of casino shutdowns during the pandemic.

New ownership

Jack Casino will undergo a rebranding as Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati as it is now owned by Hard Rock International. The property had 1,000 workers of which 800 will be called back as the casino reopens. Note that none of the employees were terminated by the casino but they were forced to go out of work as the authorities ordered the shutdown of all businesses on March 13.

The employees were eligible for unemployment benefits. Meanwhile, the property kept on its crew of security and surveillance personnel which was required by law. In May, it also ordered its employees $200 Kroger gift cards.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine allowed casinos to reopen on June 19. As a result, Hard Rock casino reopened alongside its peers Belterra Park Gaming & Entertainment Center and Miami Valley Gaming.

The casino is serious about safety

As the casino is reopening right after a global pandemic, it is very serious about the safety of its staff and guests. It will be following numerous sanitation and safety protocols to ensure that everyone at the property feels secure. It will be conducting temperature checks for all guests and staff at the door. People with a temperature of over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit will not be allowed within the property.

All guests will be required to wear masks as well. The casino will keep alternating slot machines deactivated to ensure proper social distancing. All customer service areas and table games will have plexiglass barriers separating players. The entire casino floor and all entrances will feature hand sanitizing stations as well.

The property has included hundreds of employees in the “Safe and Sound Clean Team.” The team will focus on cleaning, purifying, and disinfecting the casino floor. The ductwork in the property has also been sanitized and new HEPA filters have also been installed.
