American casino operator Bally’s Corporation recently announced the signing of an agreement for a new casino in Pennsylvania. The deal includes the designing, building, and operations of a gambling facility that will feature 30 gaming tables and 750 slots.

Change of name

The American casino operator was previously known as Twin River Worldwide Holdings Incorporated before changing its name last year. In an official press release on Monday, the firm said that the arrangement with Ira Lubert will include the design, construction, and operation of a new casino in central Pennsylvania. The deal comes four months after the local private equity and real estate manager won an auction for the sixth miniature casino license in the state.

The new property will be located within a 15-mile radius of the Centre County community in Unionville. The $120 million development will undergo around 12 months of construction before opening in the first half of 2022.

A long history of casino operations

Bally’s Corporation is headquartered in Lincoln, Rhode Island, and operates 14 casinos across eleven states. Two of its most popular properties are Casino KC and Bally’s Atlantic City. The firm is planning to bring more retail and online sports betting services to its new Pennsylvania property subject to separate licensing and certificates.

President and chief executive officer of Bally’s Corporation, George Papanier said that the agreement with Lubert is a major milestone for the company which has grown steadily during an extraordinary year. The executive also said that this firm will hold a majority equity stake in a new satellite casino in the state. The casino will include all its online and retail sports betting interests.

Papanier further noted that regional-based casinos are at the heart of their diversification strategy. It will provide the necessary support for success, development, and growth for its iGaming and sports betting initiatives.
