The Tulalip Tribes of Washington have announced that the Quil Ceda Creek Casino has a grand opening on February 3, 2021. The tribes will mark the event with ceremonial blessings.

A new beginning

The existing Quil Ceda Creek Casino opened in September 2004 and will open for the last time on Wednesday before it is closed permanently. The groundbreaking of the new casino occurred in 2017 and now it is ready to open its doors. The casino will open at 10 am on February 3 after the tribes complete the ceremonial blessing.

Belinda Hegnes, the interim executive vice president of the casino commented on the launch and said,

“We can’t wait to show guests what we mean when we say there will be ‘More to Love’ in their gaming, dining and entertainment experience. We’ll continue to provide the friendly, casual guest experience we’re known for, but now in a larger facility with more room to enjoy all that we offer.”

Delayed opening

The new casino was expected to open its gates in spring 2019. The tribes had decided to add a 150-room hotel to the casino which would feature a catering kitchen, spa, pool, meeting rooms, and VIP business lounge. The property was to be called the Quil Ceda Creek Casino Hotel.

The 126,000 sq. ft. property doesn’t allow smoking or vaping but may have dedicated smoking areas. It is situated on a 15-acre portion of land owned by Tulalip tribes and is located off I-5 at exit 199. The existing casino is less than half of the size of the new one and is located across the street. The new facility will have better casino and entertainment options alongside a new food fall, complete with a six-story parking garage.

The casino will feature 1,500 gaming machines and 16 table games. The facility will have two dining experiences. The first will be called The Landing which will serve classic dishes while The Kitchen will service made-to-order dishes around the clock.
