Huge bet from Colorado

The bet was placed in a Colorado airport by a Texas-based businessman Jim McIngvale who flew to the state for the wager. This week will be important for the Super Bowl LV as it will decide the league champion for the 2020 NFL season. McIngvale has placed the bet for the game between Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs.

“Mattress Mack” McIngvale owns a furniture retail business in Houston. He wagered via the DraftKings app on his mobile phone from the Colorado Springs Airport. This is one of the largest single bets in Super Bowl history. The punter backed up his decision to support Tampa Bay suggesting the strength of the team, their all-round talent roster, and their leader Tom Brady. One of the best football players of his era, Brady has helped the team stand tall even when facing tough opposition during the postseason.

He also said that statistics also support the Florida team as there have been no back-to-back champions in the game for the past 16 years. In the entire history of the Super Bowl, there have only been 8 instances of back-to-back champions.

A great customer experiences

McIngvale said that he had a great customer experience with DraftKings. He said that the sportsbook provided a safe and legal way for him to place a multi-million wager. Director of race and bookmaking operations at DraftKings, Johnny Avello commented on the wager and said, “Mack has been a great customer and is someone we have history with after taking his sizeable wager on the Astros to win the World Series a couple of seasons ago.”

He explained that the company accepted the bet as the customer had a pure belief that the Florida team will either win or be able to cover the spread. He noted that punters have laid -3 on the Chiefs and +3.5 on Buccaneers.
