FanDuel adds starpower to content team after signing Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith

FanDuel is bringing former NBA champion and ‘Inside the NBA’ analyst Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith on board as one of the brand’s ambassadors. The agreement with Smith is part of the Daily Fantasy and Sports Betting operator’s campaign to bolster their presence on various media platforms.

The Jet Arrives

The deal will see Smith appearing in FanDuel advertising and TNT promotions featuring free-to-play contests. The former NBA player will also provide unique content for the operator’s social media channels.

Smith joined his ‘Inside the NBA’ on TNT partner and NBA legend Charles Barkley in a tandem assembled by FanDuel to host their newest free-to-play game exclusively for Turner Sports.

The game will feature a between eight and 12 Over/Under style questions format, and it aims to test the player’s knowledge for a chance at winning a share of the $5,000 prize pool during the Inside the NBA and NBA on TNT broadcasts.

FanDuel Group secured a deal with Turner Sports in July 2020 to become the exclusive sportsbook partner for NBA programming on the studio’s properties including content integrations across Bleacher Report.

Smith and Barkley have been giving viewers insights on sports betting via FanDuel Sportsbook integrations since last year’s NBA playoffs.

Aside from ‘the Inside the NBA on TNT’ duo, FanDuel has also tapped former NFL player and journalist PatMcAfee, World Wide Wob, Cousin Sal and JJ Zachariason to its team of exclusive sports betting talent and influencers.

Key People on the Deal

Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith commented on officially becoming part of the FanDuel family.

“Partnering with FanDuel has been a great addition to Inside the NBA. “I am looking forward to collaborating with FanDuel on future projects, as well as, interacting with our viewers each night through FanDuel’s new free-to-play game that will become a bigger part of our broadcasts.”

Mike Raffensperger, Chief Marketing Officer of FanDuel Group, said:

“Kenny Smith is an NBA Champion, a beloved NBA analyst, the all-time assist leader at the University of North Carolina, and someone whose magnetic personality and smile bring people together.”

“We love Kenny on TV every Thursday night, but it’s his positivity and tireless dedication to the community that made us want to add his voice to our brand roster of sports personalities.”
