MotoGP announced in Thursday’s press release that online casino and entertainment operator 888 will serve as the title sponsor for next month’s 2021 Portuguese Grand Prix.

The third stop of the 2021 MotoGP season will take place at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve from April 16-18.  With 888 becoming the title sponsor of the event, the upcoming race will go by the name ‘Grande Prémio 888 de Portugal.’

888 has established facility in a multitude jurisdictions worldwide, including Portugal where its consumers can access to its 888casino brand via the 888.pt portal.

The company continues has made several commercial deal with sports club and sporting event in an effort to bolster its player acquisition capability. In February, Shamrock Rovers Football Club announced 888 as its official sponsor for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. The operator stressed the deal is a testament to its commitment to the local community.

Executive Insights

Pau Serracanta, managing director at Dorna Sports, commented on the recent deal which will see the 888 brand getting more market exposure via digital and race track assets.
