Lightning Box now lives on Churchill Downs’ TwinSpires in Michigan

Lightning Box has further enhanced its presence in Michigan online casino arena following an agreement with Churchill Downs’ TwinSpires, the company announced the deal on Friday.

Lightning Box-TwinSpires Deal

Under the terms of the commercial deal, the studio’s entire portfolio of real money games will go live on Churchill Downs’ TwinSpires online sportsbook and casino platform in Michigan.

It only means players in Michigan’s TwinSpires Casino will now be able to access slot titles released by the game development company, including its hit games such as ChickenFox, Lightning Horseman and Lightning Leopard.

The Churchill Downs’ TwinSpires casino took its name from the iconic spires at Churchill Downs racetrack pavilion in Kentucky.

The partnership with the Michigan-based operator marks the latest in a series of deals Lightning Box entered into as the studio looks to deepen its link in more US territories.

Last January, the supplier went live for the first time in Michigan after striking a collaboration with Scientific Games’s digital arm, SG Digital. The firm has also made its successful entry into the regulated markets of New Jersey and Pennsylvania with plans to debut in more states this year.

Churchill Downs has just launched its Twinspires mobile and online sportsbook in Tennessee. The operator also announced that its retail, mobile and online sportsbooks in Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey and Pennsylvania would undergo transition to the TwinSpires brand in the first half of the year.

Key People on the Deal

Peter Causley, CEO and co-founder of Lightning Box, commented on the key deal with Chruchill Downs TwinSpires:

“Churchill Downs needs no introduction to sports fans, as it’s the home of the famous Kentucky Derby, and now it is great to see that its’ TwinSpires sportsbook and casino brand is also making big impressions.

“Lightning Box also has a long heritage in the states and our games are loved by lots of Americans. We’re very much looking forward to sharing them with even more people in Michigan.”

Richard Sagman, VP of igaming for Churchill Downs, added:

“Lightning Box produces good quality games that our customers will enjoy and we’re excited about the opportunities that this new cooperation presents.

“TwinSpires is backed by the Churchill Downs team that has more than 140 years of racing wagering history in the United States and is now leading the way with its new online sportsbook and casino product.”
