The results showed Stakelogic leading the way with three of the brand’s titles viewed as the most popular games among Dutch players globally. Coincidentally, these titles ranked in the top three of the most played online video slot games in the Netherlands.

Online Casino Ground researched in anticipation of the Dutch igaming sector launch in October. Apart from naming the popular titles in the country, the research also revealed that Dutch players still prefer traditional slots over their contemporary versions.

Unsurprisingly, game developers who have established firm roots in the Netherlands’ casino sector occupied two of the top three in the country’s six most popular slot developers. This data reinforced the idea that Dutch players still enjoyed the most playing classic slot games. However, the mere presence of contemporary game developers like NetEnt, Play’n Go, BTG, and Microgaming in the chart cast a cloud of uncertainty over the status quo.

The country’s current gaming landscape, which is so far dominated by slot machines in casino halls, certainly played a significant factor in the research outcome. Then again, the study also showed encouraging signs for the online gaming sector. The same respondents preferring traditional slot machines, admitted they would eventually move onto the more contemporary titles once introduced in an online environment.

Stakelogic has already made efforts to stay ahead of the curve as the studio began producing digital versions of its popular land-based slots. The diversity in the slot maker’s content has proven to be the determining factor in ongoing behavior trends.
