Yggdrasil takes first step in African expansion via IGL deal

Yggdrasil, a market-leading online casino provider, added South African platform provider Intelligent Gaming to its franchise partnership program. The link-up represents the company’s first-ever business venture in the African region.

Yggdrasil sets sight in Africa

Intelligent Gaming becomes the newest member of Yggdrasil’s Franchise partnership program following regulatory approval and successful integration.

This landmark deal will pave the way for the supplier’s massive gaming content to debut on IGL and its operator partners in South Africa.

From a strategic standpoint, the operator will see itself benefitting from Yggdrasil’s technological resources and connections around the world. These solutions include a modern technology stack, a catalog of around 150 online games, and promotional tools.

Moreover, aligning with an industry leader like Yggdrasil bolstered IGL’s reputation as a “premium online provider of igaming content” in its local African markets.

As part of the agreement, IGL has also secured the green light to expand operations via franchise. The group will grant these partners access to Yggdrasil’s whole online casino suite, along with games from studios under the YG Masters program.

Massive Growth Opportunity

Andrew Pegler, director of commercial operations at Yggdrasil, hailed its new partnership with IGN as a milestone as it looks to capture a market with immense growth potential.

The executive also believed their first African venture validates its status as the leading worldwide publisher of online gaming content.

“This deal provides them with everything that has been created by Yggdrasil in the past eight years and will enhance their growing business operations in Africa.

“They are an ambitious, experienced, and well-connected supplier and see the huge potential of taking a Franchise in their key markets,” said Pegler.

Marc Plaxton-Harrison, co-founder and CEO at Intelligent Gaming, also praised Yggdrasil for allowing the company to become its first franchisee in the African region. He also expects the supplier’s content to play a pivotal role in the market for more years to come.
