Along with the former, it has been confirmed that a FanDuel Sportsbook will open on Thursday 9 December at the Delta Downs Racetrack Casino & Hotel in Vinton, pending regulatory permissions. At 3 p.m, a special ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place with Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy White, who will put the new sportsbook’s ceremonial first wager. Louisiana and surrounding state sports fans will be able to wager at the newly constructed 2,000 square foot retail shop, which contains three live betting windows, 30 self-service betting terminals, 22 video monitors, and seating for more than 40 patrons.

Moreover, Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland will formally commence legal sports betting in Maryland one day later. Regulatory clearances are required before the formal inauguration of the FanDuel Sportsbook at Sports and Social Maryland. This grand opening will also feature a special ribbon cutting ceremony, this time including Pro Football Hall of Famer Ed Reed, who will make the new sportsbook’s ceremonial first wager at 9:30 a.m.

The 14,000-square-foot sports lounge will include a 100-foot-wide media screen as its focal point, providing some of the region’s best sports viewing. Additionally, Sports & Social Maryland features two main bars, luxurious viewing chairs, and VIP sections, all of which are encircled by the state’s largest casino.

Five betting windows, one VIP window, and 26 self-service betting kiosks will be available at the FanDuel Sportsbook. Earlier in the day, Gaming and Leisure Properties announced a strategic partnership with Cordish Companies to acquire the real estate assets of three Cordish Companies Live! casino locations for $1.81 billion. This transaction will result in the firm acquiring the real estate assets of Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, and Live! Casino Pittsburgh, as well as the associated long-term ground leases.
