FDJ collaborates with Veikkaus to create an in-house terminal application

FDJ Gaming Solutions announced their critical involvement in bringing Veikkaus Oy’s first Elite-S terminal into production.

FDJ – Veikkaus Collab

Veikkaus Oy will use their partner’s digital development platform (DDP) and image analysis to construct their terminal application completely independently on Carrus Gaming’s camera-based Elite-S terminals. Veikkaus Oy’s terminals will be operated, monitored, and updated using FDJ Gaming Solutions’ terminal management suite (TMS).

The collaboration with FDJ comes on the heels of Veikkaus’ latest study on problem gambling, which found that players are losing approximately €500 million less yearly on its slot machines due to an 80 percent increase in authentication throughout 2021.

The Finnish government-owned betting agency noted that as recently as 2019, slot machines accounted for 40% of Veikkaus’ total gross gaming revenue, or €683 million.

FDJ Gaming Solutions is a part of the FDJ group that provides betting and lottery operators with B2B betting services. With nearly 300,000 lottery terminals installed worldwide, an increasing number of lotteries connected to its digital content distribution platform, instant lottery services in rapid development, and over 40 sports betting operators connected to its price feeds, trading services, or fully managed betting platform. FDJ Gaming Solutions has prestigious references from around the world.

Quotes from the Press Release

Timothée Carrus, CEO of Groupe Carrus, stated: ‘This deal represents a new milestone for our gaming terminals (Elite line) and a significant milestone for our strategic cooperation with FDJ Gaming Solutions. It is a new chapter in our shared success story, which spans more than two decades and includes the delivery of more than 330,000 lottery terminals globally.’

Pascal Blyau, CEO of FDJ Gaming Solutions France, added: ‘For the first time, we are introducing DDP, an open framework built on web technologies that accelerates terminal application development, enables dematerialization methods, and connects seamlessly with gaming or non-gaming services. Veikkaus Oy’s developers create Electron-based sales applications and focus on business logic, while DDP handles terminal operations, picture analysis, and embeds native TMS connectivity. Additionally, this is the first time we deliver TMS as a cloud service.’
