PointsBet celebrates expansion into Virginia mobile sports betting market

In Virginia, PointsBet Announces the Launch of Mobile and Online Sports Betting

On Wednesday, PointsBet, a leading worldwide online gaming operator, announced the debut of its services in Virginia.

PointsBet goes live in Virginia

The operator released its market-leading mobile app and digital sports betting platform for sports enthusiasts in The Old Dominion.

The recent rollout brings PointsBet’s flagship product to the eighth state. Prior to Virginia, the operator introduced services in important markets like Michigan, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey, and West Virginia.

Only recently, the Virginia Lottery granted PointsBet and Colonial Downs racetrack an official provider license for sports wagering in the state. Colonial Downs is now the sole legal gaming corporation operating and headquartered in Virginia. Colonial Downs is a subsidiary of Peninsula Pacific Entertainment and runs various venues in Virginia.

The Company Benefits from Television Exposure and Introduces a Special Offer

Given that PointsBet is NBC Sports’ official, exclusive sports betting partner, the operator might leverage the media’s digital assets to market its brand in Virginia. NBC Sports Regional Networks, such as NBC Sports Washington, have already featured the company. Additionally, PointsBet is featured on a consistent basis across Washington Football Team, Wizards, and Capitals programs.

To commemorate the Virginia debut, PointsBet unveiled a special “Bet & Get” promotion. This month’s unique promotion entitles customers to 10% of their accumulated wagers in Free Bets. In total, five user tiers will be established based on accumulated wagers, with each higher tier providing the user a larger Free Bet. According to the operator, anytime a user advances to a new tier, they can get their credits within 24 hours.

More Excitement

Johnny Aitken, CEO of PointsBet USA, expressed his company’s excitement about launching its services in conjunction with Colonial Downs. He noted that PointsBet provides its market-leading technology to Virginia’s enthusiastic sports fans. Finally, Aitken stated that with the debut, sports fans now have access to the world’s quickest online betting platform with powerful in-play features.

“We are overjoyed to be debuting in Virginia alongside our partner Colonial Downs, providing our best-in-market technology to such an enthusiastic sports community.”

Colonial Downs Group’s chief operating officer, Aaron Gomes, stated that the company is happy to partner with PointsBet. He noted that PointsBet is one of the most successful operators in the United States as a premium sports betting platform. “We are glad to assist in bringing this gaming option to our loyal customers and other Virginia gamers,” said Gomes.
