Holland Casino has been warned by the Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) for giving odds on live matches via Eredivisie.nl. Advertisements on the betting site advertised odds for live football games.

When these advertisements were clicked, they directed visitors to Holland Casino’s website, where customers could place wagers.

KSA sends warning to Holland Casino 

This is contrary to the KSA’s rules. License holders are prohibited from advertising sports betting before, during, or soon following a match — this includes half-time and other intermissions.

The Dutch authority stated in a statement that this ban is aimed to prevent viewers or anyone watching the results from wagering impulsively. Holland Casino was notified of the breach and ordered to cease operations “immediately and permanently.”

It stated that it will conduct an investigation into the situation during the next round of the Eredivisie, the Netherlands’ top football league, to guarantee that the infraction has been corrected. The regulator made no more announcements regarding this matter.

Since October’s inauguration of the Netherlands’ legal online gambling market, the KSA has been busy. Recently, the Dutch Gaming Authority issued a warning to operators for inaccurate self-exclusion statistics. This followed a notification that 15 affiliates would face enforcement action for advertising illegal games.

Other Violations in Holland Casino

Furthermore, the KSA conducted an audit of 20 slot machine arcades and discovered that many operators violated the Netherlands’ new regulatory standards. Holland Casino is a state-owned corporation that runs a legal gambling monopoly in the Netherlands. It was one of the first operators licensed to operate in the newly regulated iGaming sector in the country.
