PointsBet adds West Virginia to its online casino offering

After inking a multi-state agreement with Scientific Games and releasing its online casino product in West Virginia, PointsBet has bolstered its footprint throughout the United States.

PointsBet now in West Virginia

The partnership with Scientific Games would see the igaming provider’s entire OpenGaming catalogue, produced in-house by SG’s numerous studios worldwide, made available to players in West Virginia, with Michigan and New Jersey to follow.

In addition, PointsBet will phase out titles such as 88 Fortunes, Dancing Drums, Raging Rhino, and Jin Ji Bao Xi. Additionally, the business asserted that the integration with SG will position it as a “leader in the US online casino sector” and that the material provided by OpenGaming “complements” its existing casino offering. Manjit Gombra Singh, Pointsbet’s president of product and technology, added: “We are thrilled that our content relationship with Scientific Games is now live and available to our player base.

“With our OpenGaming content, we’re thrilled to solidify PointsBet’s position as a market leader in igaming; with a fast-rising player base spanning numerous states in the United States, we’re excited to see how they react to our portfolio of globally acclaimed titles,” stated Dylan Slaney, CEO Scientific Games.

Scientific Games’ agreement with PointsBet coincides with introducing the company’s online casino offering in West Virginia. Following the company’s May and July launches in Michigan and New Jersey, West Virginia becomes the third state to offer PointsBet’s proprietary igaming platform. It follows the company’s August 2021 launch of a mobile app and digital sports betting product in the state.

Through its affiliation with the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, PointsBet secured online casino access in West Virginia. Through cooperation with SG, residents of the state will enjoy 15 games, including 88 Fortunes, Blackjack, and Monopoly Megaways.

“At PointsBet, we want to provide our players with the best iGaming products available, and there’s no doubt that Scientific Games will be an excellent partner in achieving this goal over the coming months and years.”

“As PointsBet rapidly grows its footprint across the United States and the online casino sector continues to grow in popularity, we are happy to now offer an online casino experience to players in West Virginia,” commented Aaron O’Sullivan, PointsBet’s vice president of online casino revenue.
