The Cordish Companies said that it’s Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia contributed more than $325 million to the local and state economy during its first year of operation.

Cordish delivers $91M in Taxes for Pennsylvania 

The Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, located in the heart of the Philadelphia Stadium District, represents a $700 million investment and generated over $91 million in taxes to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Additionally, $51.9 million in compensation was paid to team members.

The Cordish Companies’ chairman, David Cordish, noted that they are extremely proud of the great influence they have had on local communities in their first year of operation and appreciate the city of Philadelphia’s acknowledgment. Over 1,300 new permanent employment were created as a result of the facility’s opening, with over 54% of team members residing in Philadelphia. Additionally, Live! invested more than $100 million in small, minority, and woman-owned businesses. Guests also came out on top, with a total jackpot payment of more than $81.7 million.

Charitable Activities and Funds

Additionally, The Cordish Companies demonstrated its commitment to the local community following its introduction into the market. Charitable organizations around the greater Philadelphia region received more than $454,000 in cash and in-kind donations, while team members volunteered more than 500 hours of community work.

The American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, the USO of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia, Jaws Youth Playbook, the Darren Daulton Foundation, and the Delaware Valley and Southeast Youth Athletic Leagues were among the beneficiaries.
