According to a press statement issued by the California Lottery last week, an unintentional series of events led to winning a multi-million dollar lottery jackpot in Los Angeles.

An event in Tarzana, California, in November 2021 resulted in LaQuedra Edwards winning $10 million by purchasing a scratch-off game from a vending machine by mistake as a result of the involvement of another person who inadvertently injured bumped into her during her shopping trip. 

According to a press release from the California Lottery, Edwards inserted $40 into the machine and began selecting her games when someone bumped into her and pushed her hand toward selecting a $30 200x Scratchers ticket, which she had no intention of purchasing because it represented 75 percent of her total playing budget at the time.
