The World Series of Poker Launches Tournament with 14 Influencers

The World Series of Poker®1 (WSOP®), a Playtika® studio and the world’s no. 1 play-for-fun poker game, is launching a groundbreaking new initiative in which 14 social media influencers will compete for the crown as WSOP® legend. 

It will be launched in its first of many phases across the United States this week, in which the influencers, divided into five teams, will be matched with real-life WSOP® mentors to learn the game and become poker legends!

The identities of the mystery influencers will be revealed live on Instagram starting this week as part of a one-time special event hosted by the World Series of Poker®. Audience members will have the rare opportunity to witness as the invited influencers open their secret WSOP® boxes to expose their competitors, respond in real time to their competition, and rate their own poker abilities. They will be tutored by some of the top WSOP® players in the world and will seek to understand all of the strategies and techniques behind the game. The influencers come from a diverse variety of content areas, including automotives, comedy, gaming, filmmaking, sports, and fitness, among others. After the finals, the influencer teams will compete against each other in person at an unannounced location in the United States in December.

Fans will also be taken on an incredible #RoadToTheTable by the World Series of Poker® with live videos and thrilling opportunities to interact with their favorite WSOP® luminaries and influencers, among others. Millions of players around the world have already discovered and enjoyed the free-to-play poker game, which offers a variety of interesting game modes, tournaments, and other special events.
