The Benefits of a Successful Collaboration Increase

Earlier this year, Sportradar signed an agreement with Austria’s Bundeskriminalamt (BK), which is part of the Ministry of Interior, to establish a cooperation agreement between its integrity unit and that of the Austrian Federal Police.

The MoU between Sportradar’s integrity unit and the Austrian Federal Police has been in place since 2015. (BMI). During the course of the collaboration, Sportradar Integrity Services and the Austrian Federal Police have been exchanging information and analyses on matters pertaining to sports integrity in order to prevent any match-fixing attempts and to combat corruption within the country’s sports organizations.

In his statement, General Mag. Andreas Holzer, Director of the Criminal Intelligence Service of Austria, emphasized that the Austrian Federal Criminal Police Office has played a pioneering role in the implementation of integrity measures in sports for many years. The long-standing partnership with Sportradar is being expanded to include collaboration in the battle against doping, in addition to the fight against match-fixing, as a result of this development. Sportradar’s integrity unit will provide its proven, data-driven anti-doping technologies, solutions, and network to the Austrian Federal Anti-Doping Act and other offenses of the country’s Criminal Code in order to facilitate the sharing of information that could detect and prevent attempts to violate the Act and other offenses of the country’s Criminal Code.

According to Dominic Mueser, the Global Head, Anti-Doping Services at Sportradar Integrity Services, the company’s Anti-Doping Services department has established itself as a credible and trusted operator in the anti-doping space as a result of its use of technology and data-driven anti-doping. As a result, the extension of their partnership with the Austrian law enforcement authorities is a logical next step in assisting them in their efforts to combat doping in sport.

Realize the full potential of the partnership

Mueser praised the existing solid connection with the Austrian Federal Police and expressed excitement about the prospect of expanding the partnership and revealing its full potential to assist the Austrian authorities in cleaning up sport. In order to assist the Austrian Federal Police with information and investigation support relating to athletes, supervisors, medical personnel, anti-doping and sports bodies as well as third-party organizations, Sportradar’s integrity section will use its technologies.

It has been announced that Sportradar, which provides sports integrity solutions to more than 150 sports federations and leagues around the world, as well as law enforcement and state authorities, will provide anti-doping training courses to members of the police force. Athletes, sports organizations, and anti-doping organizations can use Sportradar’s Anti-Doping Services to discover and prosecute any infractions of anti-doping rules as well as establish targeted testing strategies and identify and disrupt trafficking networks. Sportradar, which launched its new integrity service, Sportradar Integrity Exchange, earlier this month, reaffirmed its commitment to combat match-fixing and defend the integrity of the sport by allowing sportsbooks to report suspicious betting behavior.
