The Luckia Gaming Group on track to outperform pre-COVID numbers

Lucky Gaming Group, a casino and gaming corporation, not only survived the crisis in 2021 despite the Covid 19 pandemic, but it also fully recovered in the last quarter of 2021, meeting identical sales volume statistics from the previous year. In order to maintain its increasing trajectory in 2022, the corporation is putting up even greater effort.

Despite the restrictions, EBITDA was positive

In its most recent performance report, Luckia stated that it had achieved positive EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of €11 million ($11.95 million), bringing the company’s total EBITDA for the fiscal year 2020 to €11 million. Because of the forced closures of its operations to assist in the containment of Covid-19, the company’s revenue plummeted by almost 25%, from €583.6 million ($633.74 million) to €434 million ($471.29 million).

Luckia’s president, José González Fuentes, stated that the implementation of strict expenditure and adjustment measures, as well as the positive performance of the company’s online channel and the strength of its face-to-face business, were the primary reasons for the company’s positive EBITDA during the difficult pandemic year.

He went on to say that when the companies were allowed to operate, Luckia did so in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all of the strict restrictions that had been set across the company. While Fuentes acknowledged that the gaming company’s activity had slowed in the first half of 2021, he stated that once all limitations were eliminated, the company’s activity picked up significantly in the second half of the year. It didn’t take long before the data from their financial reports matched those from their pre-pandemic financial records.

Increased Involvement with Digital Channels

According to the president of Luckia, the Covid-19 situation has resulted in a rise in the use of digital media by the players in general. Fuentes remarked that they have an optimistic perspective for the year 2022 as a result of the reactivation of social and tourism infrastructure. The Luckia team anticipates that revenue will increase significantly in the following months.

It was reported in February 2022 that the Association of Gaming Licensees of Castilla and León would be formed by the transnational gambling corporations Luckia, Codere, and Sportium, who are all based in Spain (ALACA). In order to continue their regional administration relationships in the area of sustainable and responsible development of private gaming activities, this organization was formed. Luis Miguel Cabeza de Vaca, head of institutional relations at Codere Espaa, has been named president of the ALACA. He previously served as vice president of ALACA. A gaming business named Luckia and Comar founded the Galician Gambling Business Association in November 2021, a year before the establishment of the Galician Gambling Business Association (Asejuga).
