Elys Game Technology, an interactive gaming and sports betting technology business, made the announcement on Thursday that they had reached a deal with Entitlement Restaurant and Cigar Lounge in Washington, District of Columbia, to run a sportsbook at the venue.

Elys Expands Restaurants, Bars, and Sportsbooks

According to the terms of the agreement reached with Entitlement Restaurant and Cigar Lounge in Washington, District of Columbia, Elys’ wholly-owned subsidiary USBookmaking will manage the sportsbook risk and provide bookmaking services at the sportsbook site. 

Elys’ executive chairman Michele Ciavarella made the following statement in response to the news: The agreement with Entitlement Restaurant and Cigar Lounge marked the fifth sportsbook location for the innovative technology supplier, expanding its footprint across bars and restaurants in DC as expansion into neighboring states is expected to take place over the coming months.

They believe that the addition of sports betting within an exciting environment where customers can enjoy their favorite foods and beverages could bring an entirely new vibe to the establishment. Additionally, they believe that this could drive ancillary revenue and foster employment opportunities for small businesses.

In October 2021, Elys opened a retail sportsbook location at the Grand Central Restaurant and Sportsbook in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, District of Columbia. This was the beginning of the company’s execution of its small business strategy, which is based on placing white label sportsbooks in restaurants and bar venues. In February, the DC Office of Lottery and Gaming, Regulation and Oversight Division gave the go-ahead to a technology company located in Toronto that wanted to expand its operations at the property.

Entitlement will become the fifth restaurant and bar sportsbook in Washington, D.C. to be powered by Elys’ sportsbook system, pending license, so that it may provide its guests the opportunity to wager on sporting events while still enjoying the comfort and atmosphere of the venue. 

The contract that you have with Entitlement is good for a period of three years beginning on the day that you obtained the license. After those three years, you have the option of extending it a further two times for a total of six more years.
