Louisiana Constitutes PointsBet’s Twelfth State Entry

The firm stated on Thursday that its affiliate, PointsBet Louisiana, has successfully launched its online betting services in the state.

The subsidiary began operations after receiving approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, the state agency responsible for regulating all gambling activities.

PointsBet’s online sportsbook activities are now operating in the twelfth U.S. state as a result of the state’s launch. Prior to this, the leading operator launched its online sportsbook in key markets including Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, and New Jersey.

In addition to Kansas, Colorado, Illinois, West Virginia, Virginia, Iowa, and Indiana, the operator is also available live. In addition, Louisiana is the fourth state to start under PointsBet’s agreement with Penn National Gaming. Initially announced in August of 2019, the duo’s partnership was extended in March of last year.

Entering New State Brings Excitement

The CEO of PointsBet USA, Johnny Aitken, stated that the company is eager to enter the regulated online betting industry in Louisiana. He admitted that this is the company’s 12th state entry in the United States.

Aitken noted that Louisiana has a strong sports culture and that Drew Brees, one of the company’s brand ambassadors, is already familiar with their interest. He mentioned that New Orleans Saints and Pelicans supporters are particularly devoted to their local clubs.

Andrew Moreno, the senior director of regulatory operations, and Heather Schiraldi Laferriere, the director of product marketing, participated in the company’s traditional Ringing of the Bell ceremony to commemorate its debut into Louisiana.

Aitken expressed his satisfaction at the release of the PointsBet app for clients in the state. He thanked the company’s global team for the efforts which ultimately resulted in expanding the scope of PointsBet. In closing, Aitken stated that PointsBet is eager to provide sports lovers in Louisiana with superior service through its premier sports betting products.
