Following the seventh anniversary of Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River, Casino & Hotel in Murphy, North Carolina, a $275 million expansion project began on September 29.

The new expansion will significantly improve the Valley River Casino

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) and Caesars Entertainment broke ground on September 29 for a project that will further improve and expand Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel, which Caesars Entertainment owns.

The budget for the extension project is $275 million, which is roughly double the amount initially spent in the facility, therefore the expansion will be a substantial improvement to the casino.

Whiting-Turner Construction Company has been selected as the construction company for the project, while Convergence Strategy Group served as the consultant who assisted with data analysis and forecasting the growth and profitability of the newly expanded casino in light of various external factors and events.

The New Expansion Will Increase the Venue’s Size by 315,158 Square Feet

The next extension is anticipated to be completed at the start of 2024. It will increase the venue’s size from 311,011 to 626,169 square feet. The addition of 23,359 square feet to the gaming floor will virtually double the amount of casino games now available. 

The new project will increase the number of slot machines in the casino by 400, add 12 additional table games, and establish a poker area with 10 tables.

In addition, the hotel portion of the facility will be enlarged with the installation of a 296-room hotel tower. 

This means the resort will be able to accommodate fifty percent more people. In addition, there will be new amenities such as an indoor pool and a fitness facility.

A new 12,000-square-foot rooftop restaurant will be available for eating. It will provide sitting both indoors and outdoors, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges. 

Additionally, the restaurant will feature a bar and a wine cellar. A spa center and salon encompassing over 9,600 square feet will be a wonderful addition to the venue’s offerings. The spa will feature six treatment rooms, a sauna with a steam room, plunge pools, and a lounge designed for relaxation.

Additionally, the parking area will be enlarged by an extra 1,700 places with six stations where guests may charge their electric automobiles. During construction, 2,500 new employmentswill be created, and 100 new jobs will be created upon completion.
