Monday marked the announcement of the company’s provisional license in West Virginia. This is the first big step in Hacksaw Gaming’s expansion into the increasing regulated gambling market in the United States.
In fact, the company announced its intention to launch in the United States during the first quarter of 2019. The launch is anticipated to be helped by the partnership between the company and Light & Wonder.

While this is the company’s first license in the United States, it is not the first in North America. Back in May 2022, Ontario, the most populous province in Canada, issued Hacksaw a license. Consequently, Hacksaw signed a contract with Loto-Québec in October.
Under the terms of the agreement, the company pledged to deliver iGaming content to the government-owned corporation. The collaboration allowed Loto-Québec to extend its online casino offerings.
