Making a Historical Debut on Las Vegas Strip

In 2022, for the first time in the previous seventeen years, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) relocated to Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas, making a historic debut on the Las Vegas Strip.

The prestigious event’s 54th annual event in 2023 will be held at the same two new locations on the Las Vegas Strip for the second consecutive year. Caesars Entertainment made all necessary announcements just before the holiday season.

WSOP 2023 will be held at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas

The world’s richest and longest-running poker gaming tournament will return in 2023 after this year’s tournament attracted over 197,600 participants from over 100 countries.

The prize pool for the 2022 tournament exceeded $348 million, shattering previous records and significantly raising the bar.

Ty Stewart, senior vice president, and executive director of the World Series of Poker, explained that the decision to utilize the same two new locations was a direct result of the success of the event’s debut on the Strip.

Stewart expressed Caesars’ happiness and excitement at returning to Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s, soon to be renamed Horseshoe Las Vegas, for “another exciting chapter in the tournament’s history.”

2023 World Series of Poker Will Host Classic and New Events

Poker enthusiasts can begin marking their calendars and making travel arrangements for next year’s event in Las Vegas.

Caesars has confirmed that the much-anticipated $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship, also known as The Main Event, will return, along with other timeless classics and new events, including in-demand weekend tournaments. The entire WSOP schedule has not yet been disclosed.

Main Poker Series Event Highlights

The Main Event in 2022 had the second-largest field in live poker history, with a prize pool exceeding $80,780,000 and more than 8,660 participants.

In 2023, there will once again be four starting days for players to choose from, between July 3 and July 6, as well as a Day 2 buy-in option on July 7 or July 8.

Featuring “Mystery Millions” as an Opening Tournament

“Mystery Millions” is the name of the opening tournament, a $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament with mystery bounties ranging from $10,000 to $1 million for each knockout. The exact opening event will also feature a $1 million guaranteed first prize. This year, the mystery bounty event attracted over 14,100 participants and was won by professional poker player Matt Glantz, who received a mouth-watering $1,000,000 prize.

More than six months before the event, Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas senior vice president and general manager Jason Gregorec stated that excitement is already building at the two resorts.
