Sportradar to Monitor BIU Competitions
As part of the partnership, Sportradar will be responsible for providing monitoring services for all Biathlon International Union (BIU) competitions, including the IBU World Championships and World Cups, using the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS). This technology solution will enable the BIU and its partners to detect and monitor fraudulent betting activity in real-time.
Investigation into Suspicious Cases
The BIU and its partners are equipped to conduct in-depth investigations into individual cases to determine whether any parties are responsible for any suspicious events. Suspicious events are immediately flagged and referred to the BIU and its partners. Since 2020, Sportradar Integrity Services has provided the BIU with its Intelligence & Investigation Services. This recent partnership will be an additional step forward in the fight against match-fixing and corruption.
Head of BIU Excited about Partnership
The head of the BIU, Greg McKenna, expressed his excitement about the relationship and the possibility of consolidating monitoring services for the sport of biathlon. This partnership demonstrates Sportradar and BIU’s commitment to providing the sport with the resources and technologies necessary to maintain a wholesome and prosperous ecosystem.
