Global payments tech firm Nuvei has become the newest member of the American Gaming Association, the group announced in a press release on Wednesday.

In a move that would further expand its presence across the US gaming and online casino market, Nuvei’s alignment with AGA would prove vital in ensuring that industry collaborators are up to date with the latest technology.

Neil Erlick, the firm’s chief corporate development officer, has also joined the AGA board of directors. The executive will be giving first-hand insight into the industry’s work on advancing payment modernization opportunities in gaming.

Nuvei has also thrown its support in AGA’s campaigns, initiatives and task forces, most significantly the modernization of the payment working group.

The AGA is bracing a huge windfall for the betting industry this month with 47.4 million Americans expected to wager on the NCAA March Madness tournament. Surprisingly, the figure represents a similar figure to those that indicated they would bet on the tournament in 2019.

The AGA tapped the service of Morning Consult to crunch up the numbers ahead of the biggest basketball event in college basketball.
