Scientific Games improves cashless tech after ACS’ Playon acquisition

Scientific Games underscored a pivotal M&A move as the gaming giant reached an agreement to acquire ACS‘s PlayOn on Wednesday, October 6.

Scientific Games take lead in cashless technology

The Las Vegas-based gambling product and service provider said its acquisition of ACS’s Playon and its assets would allow the group to become the leader in cashless applications for table games.

Part of the deal includes renaming ACS or Automated Cashless Systems Playon to Access To On Demand Money, or AToM.

AToM, which enables cashless transactions at live table games, supports 600 tables across three US states; New Mexico, Nevada, and Los Angeles.

The company stressed AToM would complement its hosts of cashless products, including its mobile-friendly app Unified Wallet. This application allows players to top up their digital wallets to play Electronic Gaming Machines and table games like Roulette and Blackjack using their mobile devices.

Unified Wallet gives the freedom to move funds in and out of EGM along with loyalty club registration and access. With AToM, players get another cashless solution that allows them to safely access funds and play live table games literally at their fingertips.

Apart from its convenience, AToM has no hidden fee or charges any back-end or out-of-network transaction fees imposed by banks and other financial institutions. Players can easily access funds with just a swipe and PIN.

The powerful cashless solution also provides casino operators with transaction history. Powered by internal management and accounting system, these operators can track real-time transactions made using the AToM solution.

Rob Bone, senior vice president of global systems and tables at Scientific Games, provided details of his company’s takeover of AToM, formerly known as ACS Playon.

We are thrilled to add the AToM product to our portfolio of convenient cashless solutions.”

“This addition will allow us to provide operators and their players with a seamless, safe, and secure way to instantly access the money right at the gaming position. We look forward to being able to offer this invaluable product to our customers across the globe.”
