On Friday, FanDuel Group and The Cordish Companies opened the state’s first FanDuel sportsbook inside Sports & Social Maryland at Live! Casino & Hotel in the Baltimore/Washington area. 

FanDuel will set Maryland sports betting scene ablaze  

The FanDuel Sportsbook is located inside Sports & Social Maryland, the sports lounge of Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland. The 14,000 square-foot sports lounge is highlighted by a 100-foot-wide media screen, providing some of the most excellent sports viewing in the region. 

Additionally, Sports & Social Maryland features two main bars, luxurious viewing chairs, and VIP sections, all of which are encircled by the state’s largest casino. Ten betting windows and 31 IGT PlaySports self-service betting terminals will be available at the FanDuel Sportsbook.

Ed Reed, a Pro Football Hall of Fame member, officially opened the new FanDuel Sportsbook at Sports & Social Maryland by participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and making a ceremonial first wager. Reed wagered $20 on Dustin Poirier to win UFC 269 on the Moneyline.

FanDuel offers bets on all major US sports, including professional football, basketball, baseball, tennis, mixed martial arts, soccer, golf, and motorsports racing. Also, the said company has on-site customer care representatives that will educate consumers through the sports betting procedure and an online betting tutorial that will teach customers the ins and outs of legal sports betting. 

The FanDuel Group, in collaboration with The Cordish Companies and Live! Casino & Hotel, Maryland, intends to offer online sports betting in Maryland, subject to regulatory and legal approvals. The new location debuted on the same day as Horseshoe Casino Baltimore established a Caesars Sportsbook. MGM National Harbor opened its BetMGM sportsbook, making it the state’s first casino to handle in-person sports wagering.
