Gila River marks milestone with the launch of the $180 million Sunrise

Gila River Hotels & Casinos is hosting a festive weekend at the Wild Horse Pass this month to commemorate the completion of the resort’s $180 million expansion and the launch of the Sunrise tower.

Gila River unveils renovation and improvements

On January 21-22, the hotel and real-money casino will debut its renovated design and amenities — the first in 27 years – with a weekend-long celebration.

The establishment will break construction on the $180 million resort property expansion in August 2020 in partnership with Sundt Construction, TynanGroup, and Friedmutter Group. It was the property’s first expansion since it launched in 2009.

The Sunrise tower, which is connected to the Sunset tower, is 11 stories tall and rises 150 feet over the desert terrain. The Sunrise tower adds 205 guest rooms and suites to the resort’s total of 447 rooms.

When guests arrive at Wild Horse Pass, they will note the freshly remodeled lobby entrance, which features a chandelier atop the bucking horse sculpture as the highlight, as well as paintings by Gila River Indian Community artisans decorating the walls.

Additionally, the resort has expanded its conference area to include 18,000 square feet of indoor space and 7,000 square feet of outdoor space. Additionally, all three of the company’s facilities will feature live table games such as roulette, baccarat, craps, poker, and slots.

“We are pleased to officially present ourselves as Gila River Resorts & Casino,” Manuel declared. “Over the last several years, we’ve worked to create a place brimming with thrilling entertainment and innovative ways to play that allows guests to come as they are and own their time.

“From our new Las Vegas-style live table games, vibrant nightlife, and BetMGM Sportsbooks, to our expanded fine dining selections, large suites, and range of tranquil and isolated pools, Gila River Resorts & Casinos offers a casino resort experience unlike any other.”

Gila River Resorts & Casinos, as “Arizona’s Official Sports Headquarters,” recently inaugurated BetMGM Sportsbooks at all three sites, allowing resort guests to watch and wager on sports from all major US leagues and international sporting events.
