Fortuna Entertainment confirms departure of Per Widerström

The board of directors of Fortuna Entertainment revealed that Per Widerström has decided to step down from his position as chief executive of the Central and Eastern European betting and gaming organization after seven years.

Fortuna achieves great feats under Widerstrom

David Vank, general manager of Fortuna Entertainment’s Czech subsidiary, has been appointed as Widerström’s formal successor. Vank will assume leadership of the group on March 1. In a personal statement, Widerström expressed gratitude to Penta Investments. This private equity firm owns Fortuna, for supporting his leadership strategy, which saw the company aggressively grow into underserved CEE countries.

“Seven years is a long time, and there are so many people I want to thank for being a part of my and FEG’s journey, whether they be customers, business partners, or other stakeholders,” he noted. I’d like to express my gratitude to all of the incredible people who have helped build FEG into the amazing company it is today, as well as to Penta Investments for their tremendous support and partnership.

“Leaving Fortuna at this point seems natural, especially knowing that the company is well positioned for continued growth and is in excellent hands with David and the rest of the management team.”
