Michigan online casino: Greentube secures entry into state

Greentube has declared a “milestone success,” with the Novomatic interactive branch expanding its influence in US gaming even further by acquiring a license in Michigan.

Greentube goes live in Michigan

Greentube’s new supplier license is second in the United States, following its launch in New Jersey last year. Greentube is now in talks with operators in the Great Lake State, which legalized online gaming in January 2021.

The arrangement provides for the imminent release of games from Greentube’s portfolio, including Diamond Cash: Mighty Elephant, Diamond Cash: Mighty Sevens, and Diamond Cash: Oasis Riches, as well as more titles designed mainly for US players. Greentube states that the United States “will be a key priority” in the next year, with the supplier also planning further launches in Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

Last month, it was reported that Michigan’s sportsbooks and internet casinos concluded the year on a high note, with the latter exceeding $120 million in revenue and sports betting businesses making over $500 million in wagers. Michigan has become the third state to surpass the $1 billion mark in annual income from igaming and the first to do it in its inaugural year. December income of $121.8 million topped the previous high of $109.7 million set in October, with the victory generating $31.2 million in state and local taxes.

Quotes from the Press Release

“Obtaining our second US license is a significant milestone for us, and extending into Michigan is a critical step in our North American expansion strategy,” Michael Bauer, Greentube’s CFO/CGO, said of the group’s latest entry.

“The US market has enormous potential, and it is one on which we will place a premium to establish ourselves as a major source of online casino content that appeals to local players. We look forward to engaging with operators in Michigan and reaching a new audience with our first-rate content inventory.”
