Expansion in Arizona

Unibet received nine new LEWO licenses for sports betting in Arizona as a result of the new partnership between Kindred Group and Turf Paradise, which will increase the brand’s recognition and further expansion in the state. Manuel Stan, SVP North America, Kindred Group, commented, “Acquiring nine of the 10 LEWO licenses is a tremendous accomplishment for Kindred, Turf Paradise, and our State partners.” This is an excellent chance for Kindred Group to grow the Unibet brand in Arizona and capitalize on the brand’s early success.

Kindred opened its Unibet-branded retail sportsbook lounge in the Grand Canyon State in September last year in cooperation with the Quechan Tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation at Paradise Casino in Yuma, following the group’s February market access agreement with the tribe. Manuel Stan, SVP North America, Kindred Group, added that they will work closely with their partners to prepare for the launches in the various locations over the next few months and are delighted to be able to provide the best-in-class product to additional clients in Arizona.

Unibet wagering will be offered at Turf Paradise, Brookside II, Charley’s Sports Grill, Gallagher’s 16th, Gallagher’s Baseline, Harold’s, R.T.O’Sulivan, Boston’s Bar, and Midtown Tavern as a result of the new relationship with Turf Paradise, greatly increasing the brand’s foothold in Arizona.

The Sportsbook Industry in Focus

The new arrangement underscored the expanded role that the Swedish gambling business anticipates its sports betting operations will play in the future, as well as the significance of Arizona as a gaming state with enormous growth potential.

Arizona became the first state to reach $1 billion in gambling revenue in less than three months after formally launching sports betting in September 2021, according to the Arizona Department of Gaming’s November wagering report released in January. Kindred negotiated a three-year extension to its partnership with Kambi Group earlier this month. The new agreement insured that the group’s sportsbook activities would continue to be powered by the sports betting technology supplier through 2026. In addition, in February, Kindred revealed an ambitious strategy to seize complete control of its sportsbook platform, doubling its recruitment efforts and bolstering its trading capabilities in the process, with the goal of virtually doubling its staff to 400 individuals.
