Resorts World Introduces Online Sports Betting in New York

Resorts World operates retail sportsbooks at its hotels in the Catskills and Las Vegas. Genting Americas East President Robert DeSalvio remarked in a news statement that this is something their players and sports enthusiasts have been requesting for a long time, and they are excited to announce the addition of mobile sports betting to Resorts World New York. The company’s experience operating a sportsbook at both our Catskills and Las Vegas properties enabled them to listen to their players and deliver what New Yorkers truly want in a mobile sports betting app. They believe that by combining with a forward-thinking product and technology firm in PointsBet as our platform provider, Resorts WorldBET will only contribute to the company’s development.

Resorts World is the first casino in New York to offer an app created just for its sportsbook. It decided against partnering with an online sports betting operator and instead applied for a license to operate its own built app. Prior to the casino’s inauguration, As part of the app’s launch, Resorts World New York City (RWNYC) has invested roughly $1 million to erect digital displays across the property that will broadcast all of the year’s major games. Additionally, Resorts World Catskills (RWC) is home to Sportsbook 360, one of the few sportsbooks in New York that offers in-person sports wagering.

Genting Rewards members will receive special promotions in honor of Resorts World Bet. Members who present the app and make a minimum $25 deposit are eligible to get complimentary goodies. From Saturday, March 12 until Monday, April 4, the discount is valid. As part of Resorts World’s commitment to responsible gaming and technology, Resorts World Bet advertising will include a QR code given by the New York State Gaming Commission that will lead visitors to the Problem Gambling Resource Center.

BallyBET Is Still On Hold

With the announcement of Resorts World opening its sportsbook app, Bally’s is the final company to remain offline. In a late January interview, Bally’s Chairman Soo Kim stated that Bally Bet would not open in New York until at least April.

BallyBET missed out on the lucrative Super Bowl betting weekend, which is normally the highest bet weekend of the year and will almost certainly miss out on the most of March NCAA basketball tournaments. Kim stated in an interview with Contessa Brewer on CNBC that the April rollout is consistent with the company’s plan.
