The new roll-out of the loyalty program by MGM Resorts International includes significant incentives like MGM Rewards Mastercard. Approval for this credit card would mean a promotion to Pearl status. It will also qualify the player to self-park at any of the company’s venues in the US. MGM Rewards program will run at all 20 and more outlets in the USA.

Many consider the self-parking offer a major player-bait, given the regular outcry against crowded Las Vegas Strip and ‘pesky’ parking fees.

Revamped MGM royalty program

The new royalty program offers enough opportunities for gamers to spend on MGM games. In addition, the Rewards Mastercard will maximize the earning potential as every spending will bring in freebies and awards that will further incentivize their play!

Cardmember has the opportunity to earn three points and three-tier credit for every dollar spent in a notified reward destination of MGM. Additionally, additional earnings will be from gas and supermarket purchases at two points and two Tier Credits for every dollar spent.

One of the biggest operators, Bellagio, already scrapped the old –MLife plan loyalty program for the newer and more exciting rewards programs. The number of members Bellagio deals with is more than 34 million members. This is one of the most extensive known programs of its kind.

Critics punch loophole sin MGM Rewards Program

Industry experts have also criticized the MGM Rewards. They claim that the program has made it very difficult for the players to accumulate points.

For example, in the case of the Pearl status itself, a player needs as much as 75,000 points to move from their old Gold status. However, moving to higher status such as Platinum is more challenging as it needs nearly 200,000 points.

On the other hand, this is an opportunity for MGM that it cannot let pass as the marketing strategy here is cross-platform reach!

It has roped in BetMGM to be part of the grand opportunity to earn more and more points from its credit cards. As the company notified, the MGM Rewards Mastercard, when used at BetMGM app for sports betting, will earn multiplier points and Tier Credits for deposits!
