Penn National Gaming (PNG) announced last month that the Greektown Casino-Hotel, one of the three casinos in Detroit, will be renamed Hollywood Casino in the near future.

Additional Benefits Included in the Rebranding Process

The 100,000-square-foot gaming, entertainment, and dining destination and 30-story hotel in Detroit’s Greektown Historic District will become part of Penn’s flagship Hollywood Casino on May 1, subject to customary regulatory approvals. The changes and additions to the property’s look, feel, and experience will be implemented in accordance with Penn’s standard operating procedures. 

According to John Drake, General Manager of Hollywood Casino, Greektown, the casino’s transformation into Hollywood Casino at Greektown will provide guests with the best of both worlds: they will retain all of the unique, neighborhood charm that has defined Greektown since the casino first opened its doors, while also adding several new amenities that come with being a part of Penn National’s flagship brand family of casinos.

After completing the ongoing redesign of its guestrooms and suites as part of a $30 million renovation program that has already seen the hotel lobby redesigned in order to accommodate the opening of a lobby cocktail bar, the Hollywood Casino will complete its remaining renovation work in the coming months. New food and beverage options will be available at the property, including lounges such as the Urban Cocktail and Rock Bar, as well as a Dunkin’ Donuts concept, all of which will be located in the lobby. The currently available casual and to-go dining options at the Monroe Market food hall will be expanded with the addition of a new Detroit Taco Company. Prism, the casino’s best steakhouse, will introduce a new menu to its patrons in the coming months.

Hollywood Casino’s partnership with the Detroit Music Hall has already been extended through the 2022-23 season, allowing its guests to enjoy a variety of live music and comedy performances, as well as shows featuring Michael Bolton, Wanda Sykes, Boyz II Men, Jim Brewer, America, and other notable performers.

A private VIP event with a red carpet theme, as well as a community special event, will be held on May 19 and May 21, respectively, to commemorate the rebranding of the property.
