$15M Guaranteed Prize Pool For Poker Tourney
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is one of the most famous brands in globally broadcast gambling, and the 20th edition of the world’s biggest poker tournament will take place in December at Wynn Las Vegas. The WPT World Championship will be held from December 1, 2022, through December 20, 2022, at the prestigious Wynn Las Vegas venue. The crown event will be the championship with a buy-in of $10,400 and a live broadcast final table. According to the WPT’s press release, the $15 million prize pool is ”the highest single live tournament guarantee in the history of poker.”
The WPT festival of 2022 will include over a dozen tournaments, including three major events: the Prime Championship, the Wynn Mystery Bounty, and the World Championship.
Adam Pliska, CEO of WPT, exclaimed, ”This is one of the most ambitious undertakings the World Poker Tour has done in its 20-year existence,” before applauding the Wynn cooperation in the news release.
The first broadcast tournament will be the inauguration of the 2022 World Poker Tour Prime Championship, with a $1,100 buy-in and a $2 million guarantee, scheduled for the December 8-12 windows. This will be followed on December 16 through December 19 by the Wynn Mystery Bounty, which also carries a $2 million guaranteed prize pool with a twist: after eliminations, players will have the opportunity to win up to $100,000 in cash on the spot, concluding the festival portion of the tournament and leaving the world championship as the remaining crowning event on the schedule.
Numerous Excitement planned from the start
The WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas will also include three ”Day 1” flights on the 12, 13, and 14 of December. Each day will have a ”freezeout,” and only one entry per flight will be accepted. Obviously, the pinnacle will be the announcement of the champion on December 20 and the probable winner of the largest reward ever. More information will come. The World Poker Tour press release notes, ”At least 200 online qualifiers will attend the World Poker Tour World Championship,” indicating that this may be one of the busiest periods for the ClubWPT, the company’s official subscription online poker game. Beginning June 12, the platform is scheduled to provide ”multiple qualifying chances.”
