GGPoker, the top worldwide online poker club, has announced the formation of the Poker Integrity Council in an attempt to strengthen its commitment to integrity (PIC).

GGPoker Has Established Poker Integrity Council

The new Council will attempt to strengthen and safeguard the poker industry’s integrity. The PIC will be responsible for identifying suspicious conduct, such as collusion, RTA, bots, and ghosting. Once such conduct has been identified, it will be marked for review. 

The noted incidence will then be shared with the PIC members and Jason Koon, GGPoker’s Integrity Ambassador, for assessment. The members of the PIC will then evaluate whether disciplinary action is necessary based on a majority decision.

In conclusion, the matter may be dismissed or disciplinary action may be taken. The PIC’s disciplinary sanctions may include a warning or account suspension. Cases involving misuse or egregious violations of the integrity rules may result in a permanent suspension from GGPoker, or a permanent ban and the seizure of cash. The most severe disciplinary punishment is a blacklist in the sector. 

This implies that if the PIC determines that a player has cheated and imposes this sanction, the player will be banned from all major live poker events in the industry. Among these tournaments and live poker events are the WPT, WSOP, APT, PGT, APL, Triton Poker, and several more.

Renowned poker players on the Integrity Council

In addition to Koon as GGPoker’s Integrity Ambassador, other PIC voting members include American poker player Andrew Lichtenberger, popularly known as LuckyChewu, and German professional poker player Fedor Holz. 

Nick Petrangelo and Seth Davies will also be members of the newly established integrity Council. Members of the PIC will perceive the data to be analyzed as “anonymized and encrypted” to maintain its impartiality when enforcing a judgment and preserve the privacy of users. 

In other words, the members of the Council would not see nicknames, stakes, or hand IDs. Koon highlighted with enthusiasm that it is a pleasure to create the Poker Integrity Council. According to him, the Council will contribute to the safety of online poker for all participants. 

In addition, Koon noted that this work compliments his intention to assist the “GGPoker team in making their poker games more safe and fair than ever before.” 

He noted that the “broader community” would be better protected due to GGPoker’s list of partners and the ability to blacklist cheats throughout the whole industry. Koon emphasized that the introduction of the PIC signifies that the industry would no longer tolerate cheats.
