The Project Experienced Numerous Delays

Initial plans were for construction to begin in the beginning of 2021, however the project has encountered many obstacles. As a consequence of the COVID-19 epidemic, the construction lender was temporarily unable to offer finance, delaying the commencement of building operations by a number of months. 

During that time, the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) suspended the project owing to airport proximity-related security concerns. In October 2021, after several design modifications, Dream Las Vegas finally obtained regulatory certification. To comply with TSA requirements, the hotel eliminated its ninth-floor pool club and all airport-facing balconies. 

Additionally, the whole structure was pushed closer to the Strip. The modifications are intended to avoid incidents like the one that occurred in 2017 when a gunman lodging at Mandalay Bay massacred 60 people at the Route 91 Harvest festival. Before starting fire on the gathering, the guy managed to shatter his hotel room window without being discovered.

The Flagship Hotel for Dream Hotel Group

On Friday, July 7, the formal building procedure will begin. Its official developers are Shopoff Realty Investments and Contour, a commercial real estate development business. 

McCarthy Building Companies will be the general contractor for this project. To mark the occasion, Dream Hotel Group will host a groundbreaking ceremony with many guest speakers, including Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, Dream Hotel Group CEO Michael Lindenbaum, and Clark County Board of Commissioners Chair James Gibson. 

Additionally, Dream’s other project partners will send representatives to the event. David Daneshforooz, chief executive officer of Contour, said that the new hotel would be a wonderful match for the Las Vegas Strip and fill an unfilled niche.

Dream Las Vegas is located properly as the company’s flagship property. Several notable sporting facilities, including the Allegiant Stadium and the T-Mobile Arena, are situated nearby. Future visitors will enjoy easy access to the greatest of the Strip, with the Mandalay Bay Resort and Pinball Hall of Fame within walking distance.

The completed structure will have 531 rooms and span 20 levels. The hotel will have a variety of distinctive eateries, a 30,000-square-foot casino, a nightclub, a ballroom and conference area, and parking for 825 automobiles, among other attractions. The hotel is far smaller than local competitors and will instead concentrate on providing a boutique experience.
