Evolution AB, a supplier of gaming technology, has constructed a new casino studio in Connecticut and plans to hire 400 workers, according to a statement from Connecticut Governor Ted Lamont.

Soft Commencement of Operations

The live casino studio of Evolution, which will be located in a brand-new building in Fairfield, will initially employ 140 people and then progressively increase its workforce to include technical, production, administrative, and information technology jobs.

 Evolution launched in the Constitution State on July 11 with a seven-day soft launch, providing blackjack and roulette tables to a restricted number of players under the supervision of the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. 

Michelle Seagull, commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, outlined the department’s Gaming Division’s efforts on behalf of the state to “ensure Evolution’s facilities and offerings meet the high standards” of the state’s regulations and to “create a safe” environment for live dealer games within the state’s online gaming marketplace.

Streaming to DraftKings and FanDuel Players

Evolution must operate an in-state facility as part of its Connecticut license requirements in order to provide its live games to online gaming operators in the state. 

If the soft launch demonstrates compliance with state regulations, the Stockholm-listed technology provider plans to make its products available to DraftKings and FanDuel customers on July 18. 

The new casino studio expands Evolution’s existing presence in the United States, where the business runs live studios in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan. Last month’s debut of Evolution’s casino product in West Virginia was powered by Evolution’s Pennsylvania studio, which streamed live roulette and card table games. 

Also last month, Evolution built a live casino studio in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, to expand its worldwide and European presence. Only a few months after Evolution built a digital center in Lisbon, Portugal in March, the studio went online.
