The professional player known as “Mande” in Apex Legends has revealed that a gambling firm/ online casino offered him a lucrative deal in the past.

Mande provided some insight into the kind of offers that online casinos often make to broadcasters when they contact them. Mande has amassed a reasonably large number of followers, with about 300,000 subscribers on Twitch, which recently introduced a slot category on its streaming platform.

Mande Has Declined to Participate in the Gambling Streaming Deal

Other prominent streamers, such as “Trainwreck” and “Xpozed,” have either been running gambling broadcasts for years or have also talked about the connection that exists between popular streamers and gambling before he made his findings. His revelations came after those other streamers. “xQc” is yet another well-known face in the gaming vertical who made his comeback to streaming early this year and was met with a range of reactions from his audience.

However, Mande maintained his stance, and he categorically rejected the arrangement. He said that an unknown organization was interested in making a deal with him that would pay him between $300,000 and $400,000 for a period of six months with a workweek of just four hours. He said that he would be paid a fixed salary of $15,000, in addition to $6,000 that would be his to spend on gambling in any manner he saw fit.

In a video that he uploaded, Mande admitted that declining a life-changing opportunity is a very tough thing to do, but he did not go into too much depth as to why he had decided to reject the contract. However, he did accept that it is a difficult thing to do. In spite of everything, he was content with the pattern that he was now following.

Gambling on Twitch and the Rising Appeal of Slot Machines

There is no denying the ever-increasing popularity of gambling streams. The specialized category that Twitch introduced in an effort to appease its fanbase has been doing almost too well recently. “Slots” has regularly been one of the top performers, drawing in a large number of viewers and building a strong fanbase as a result. 

Because of the influencer’s own standing in the gaming and Twitch communities, the category rose to an even higher position when xQc made the transition from gaming to gambling for himself. The audience for “Slots” remains one of the most active on Twitch to this day, as the game consistently ranks in the Top 10 most watched content on the platform.

This does not mean, however, that there has not been any resistance to this. A petition on Twitch that was started in May with the intention of putting a halt to gambling sponsorships has not been successful, at least not for the time being. The big company, which is owned by Amazon, has stayed very quiet about the controversy, providing very little to no remark on what has become a significant problem for many people. It is reported that Trainwreck, one of the most renowned gambling streamers, is worth millions of dollars despite the fact that he often loses money while streaming, which is where he got his moniker. The problem that many people have with gambling being done by adults who are seen as role models persists, and when there is a lack of adequate parental supervision, the accidental exposure of minors to gambling is a significant problem.
