The Supplier Will Continue to Supply the New York Lottery

The four-year extension will also expand IGTs and the lottery’s agreements. For instance, the provider will implement new claims and payment systems while continuing to provide the New York Lottery with the central lottery system. 

IGT will also continue to power what it considers to be one of the best lotteries in the United States with its various solutions, such as field services, instant ticket warehousing, and distribution, call center support, retailer training, and infrastructure enhancements.

Jay Gendron, chief operating officer of IGT’s lottery division, discussed the agreement. He mentioned that his company and the New York Lottery have collaborated for over three decades. Gendron is pleased to continue supplying the lottery with best-in-class solutions, as the two have previously enjoyed a fruitful partnership.

IGT Expands Footprint Despite Financial Challenges

IGT released its financial results for the second quarter of 2022 at the start of August. Despite being one of the industry’s major players, the company’s revenues declined slightly. All segments appeared to underperform, as the company’s standings did not significantly improve.

Fortunately, the decline is minor, but the company has also suffered concerning losses. Despite earning $300 million in net income during the second quarter of 2021, the company now has a net loss of $4 million. 

Despite some obstacles, IGT continues to expand its presence in the United States and abroad. Beginning in August, the company signed a partnership agreement with Nisqually Red Wind Casino, a tribal venue in Washington. The renowned provider powered the casino’s sports betting, allowing it to engage the state’s sports fans.

In July, IGT expanded its presence in the LATAM region by signing a contract with Nuevo Casino Alberdi, a brand-new casino in Salta, Argentina. IGT consented to provide the new establishment with its critically acclaimed games and gaming cabinets. 

Additionally, IGT expanded its Mega Millions partnership with Holland Casino, a prominent Dutch operator. IGT continues its global expansion but must now adapt to the financial challenges posed by rising energy costs and the ever-changing nature of the market.
