• Ten months after the Golden Nugget Lake Charles debuted a temporary DraftKings sportsbook, it’s time for the permanent location to open.

The DraftKings Sportsbook  to Provide 3,200 Square Feet of TV Display Area

DraftKings retail sportsbook at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles casino in Louisiana opened in November 2021. However, it was only a temporary arrangement that could accommodate bettors while the permanent sportsbook was being created. 

Ten months later, the state’s largest sportsbook is finally prepared to open its doors.

The new permanent retail sportsbook will encompass a 12,000-square-foot space and offer patrons an immersive sports betting experience. 

Massive television screens will cover a total area of 3,200 square feet. Guests of the Golden Nugget Lake Charles can sit back, relax, and watch live games from over 300 lounge seats located in VIP areas.

 Five ticket cages will be available in the casino for customers to place their sports wagers. Additionally, the sportsbook will provide video poker gaming machines. Additionally, patrons will have access to three blackjack tables.

Approximately thirty service kiosks where guests can place their wagers will be available throughout the Golden Nugget Lake Charles venue.

The New Permanent Sportsbook Will Offer Unique Sports Betting Experience

As expected, various dining options will also be available at the new permanent DraftKings sportsbook. DraftKings Sportsbook Bar & Grill, located within the sportsbook, will offer a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. 

There will also be a “quick grab” option for those who have trouble tearing themselves away from the live sports action on the television screens.

 In addition to the usual favorites such as burgers and wings, die-hard sports fans will also be able to indulge in their favorite foods. A dedicated bar will provide an extensive selection of beverages, beers, cocktails, and more.

Michael Kibort, senior director for retail sportsbooks at DraftKings, expressed his enthusiasm for the new venue, stating that they are thrilled to open a permanent retail DraftKings Sportsbook inside the Golden Nugget Lake Charles. 

The expansive space, large-screen televisions, odds boards, and dining options will bring the DraftKings brand to life in an ideal setting for experiencing live sports.

Gerry Del Prete, the Chief Operating Officer of Gaming for Fertitta Entertainment, stated that the new sportsbook would significantly raise the bar for sports betting by providing a novel and enticing audiovisual sports betting entertainment and experience.
