Fanatics Will Accept Sports Betting Wagers in 2022

Rubin has been invited to share information about what is a competing platform and product. Rubin would not have attended FanDuel, and Fanatics engaged in a dispute, nor does FanDuel invite a competitor.

Regardless, Fanatics appear prepared. Rubin confirmed that bets on the Sixers (referring to the NBA franchise, the Philadelphia 76ers) would be accepted by the end of the year.

In June of this year, it became clear that the company is divesting from the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils, an NHL franchise, a move that was interpreted by many as a proactive measure to ensure there is no conflict of interest should the company enter sports betting.

Fanatics appears to be well on its way to achieving its sports betting goals, and while the complete picture is still missing some details, there have been many intriguing developments.

In addition to selling shares, Fanatics is hiring 60 new employees for its betting and gaming business, according to its career website. Fanatics also acquired former FanDuel CEO, Matt King, thereby re-linking the two companies.

The Single-Most Valuable Company in Sports

The business already owns patents for a mobile betting app, sportsbook, and casino. Rubin argues that Fanatics could be the most valuable entity in all sports and technology.

Rubin appears to have a very long-term perspective on the market, and Fanatics has no immediate plans to make a splash in the marketplace. Instead, Rubin anticipates that the dust will settle and regulation will become the norm throughout the United States.

It has already occurred in over 34 states, but there are more. Fanatics is in a favorable starting position because its customer database contains 100 million individuals, giving it a significant boost once it launches in earnest.
