BetMGM in, PointsBet Out – Well, Almost

The decision dethroned the Australian operator and replaced it with a domestic brand that debuted as an intriguing amalgamation of American and European sports betting and iGaming skills. The collaboration is expected to extend through the 2023 NFL season and may be renewed at the conclusion of the 2022 season, however, no specifics are revealed at this time.

PointsBet is not necessarily terminating ties with NBC, however. Instead, it continues to be a partner of the broadcasting network but has shifted its concentration elsewhere. The corporation intends to concentrate its marketing efforts on Peacock. Peacock is the streaming service for NBC. PointsBet will continue to collaborate with NBC on its regional sports networks and will investigate further opportunities. PointsBet has made significant progress in the newly legalized sports betting industry in the United States and is now live in 12 states, with plans to expand to more. Thanks to its association with NBC, PointsBet is able to continue launching innovative marketing efforts that should help it maintain its market dominance.

However, PointsBet is keen to regulate its marketing expenditures and avoid incurring excessive runaway costs. According to the company’s CFO, Andrew Mellor, the sportsbook has not increased its marketing budget for the current fiscal year. PointsBet has been attempting to think creatively in the interim.

PointsBet Maintains an Innovative Betting Environment

The first version of new advertising the corporation produced for the NFL season was deemed a bit too provocative, so it was restricted to social platforms exclusively. Instead, more “typical” advertising was broadcast on television. PointsBet disclosed additional steps to enhance the sports betting experience by informing sports enthusiasts through a dedicated newsletter. PointsBet remains one of the most competitive sportsbooks in the United States, despite the rapid evolution of the game.

With DAZN and Betr launching dedicated sportsbooks and Fubo Sportsbook promoting innovation through the convergence of sports media, content, and betting, there is a great deal of change occurring in how people view and experience sports and sports betting today.
