Adaptation of Neutral Stance in Organizing Campaigns

International casino and entertainment enterprise providing online sports betting and iGaming solutions Bally’s Corporation has reached a labor neutrality agreement with the International Union of Operating Engineers, the tenth largest union in the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL–CIO) (IUOE).

The latter has approximately 400,000 active members across 123 local unions in the United States and Canada.

The agreement pertains to Bally’s Tropicana property in Las Vegas, and it would permit both parties to choose a neutral stance when organizing campaigns that will enable all Tropicana Las Vegas employees to make informed decisions when choosing their union representatives.

Bally’s Desires to Maintain Its Relationship with IUOE

Soo Kim, chairman of Bally’s, referred to the company’s employees as its “most valuable asset” while describing the company’s efforts to ensure that they retain the right to choose their legal representatives.

Kim also discussed their “proven track record of establishing positive relationships with organized labor” and expressed their desire to strengthen their ties with IUOE in the future.

Simultaneously, Jose Soto, the organizing director of IUOE Local 501, discussed how Bally’s and IUOE were “aligned” in their joint efforts to promote employee representation at the local and national levels.

Soto explained that the foundation of this relationship was the integrity and dedication demonstrated by Kim and his crew.

More Growth in the Future

Currently, Bally’s owns and operates 15 casinos in 10 U.S. states, a horse racetrack in Colorado, the global online gaming operator Bally’s Interactive International, the premier sports betting platform Bally Bet, and the promising iCasino platform Bally Casino.

Bally’s has access to OSB licenses in 18 states and employs a total of 10,500 individuals who are responsible for managing and overseeing 500 table games, 15,000 slot machines, and 5,300 hotel rooms.

Bally’s Significant Milestone to Market

Bally’s also reached a labor agreement for multiple projects with the Chicago & Cook County Building & Construction Trades Council and the AFL-CIO Building and Construction Trades Department.

The new agreement would allow the company listed on the New York Stock Exchange to construct a temporary flagship casino in Chicago, bringing the company’s total number of casinos to 16. At the beginning of the month, Bally’s representatives met with local business representatives and Chicagoans to discuss parking spaces and future employment opportunities.

Bally’s has also announced its intention to construct a casino adjacent to the Nittany Mall in State College, Pennsylvania, bringing the total number of casinos to 17. Bally’s Corporation announced plans to construct an integrated resort in Fukuoka, Japan, at the end of March.
