Wynn Will Increase Encore Boston Harbor Facilities

Wynn Resorts plans to construct two hotels with ballrooms, three parking garages for cars, dining and entertainment facilities, a poker room, and a sportsbook on the land located across Broadway from its Encore Boston Harbor casino.

Currently, cars are parked in the area in question. However, if Wynn’s plans are approved by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, things may soon change. 

Currently, the gambling operator has obtained planning board approval for the first phase of the project in Everett. Today, the city council is also expected to vote on the zoning amendment and whether or not to permit the construction of new gambling facilities.

In the first phase of its expansion plan, Wynn would build a venue with a poker room, a sports bar, a nightclub and a day club, a large theater, and a comedy club. The venue would also feature a parking garage with capacity for 2,100 vehicles. 

Wynn intends to link the new facilities to its main casino via a pedestrian bridge spanning Broadway. If all goes according to plan, Wynn’s expansion will generate approximately 800 new jobs.

The Operator Desires to Profit from Its Sports Betting License

The announcement comes several months after Massachusetts legalized sports betting and online sports betting. Wynn was the first operator to receive an official license to accept sports wagers in Massachusetts. The company would capitalize on its new license by opening a new location.

Big Night Entertainment Group would operate the non-gambling facilities in the new building. It is possible that the company will relocate the Memoire nightclub into the new building and use it to provide superior experiences for visitors. Ed Kane, a partner at Big Night, admitted in an interview that the design of the new building impressed him. He anticipates that the new location will be spectacular.

Wynn Has Already Prepared Plans for the Second Phase

In the second phase of the project, Wynn would build two hotels. One would have around 500 rooms and the other around 300. As previously mentioned, each hotel will have its own ballrooms, dining areas, and parking spaces. In addition, Wynn plans to construct a two-story building shopping center.

Anticipating to Generate Millions Annually 

When the entire project is finished, Wynn anticipates generating millions of dollars annually. Additionally, the new facilities would contribute millions of dollars in local taxes, thereby bolstering the local economy.
