INTRALOT Will Utilize the Orion Sportsbook System

Intralot will implement its INTRALOT Orion Sportsbook solution in accordance with an agreement with the Ohio Lottery.

Consequently, the supplier will utilize current lottery equipment and infrastructure to facilitate the launch of sports betting throughout Ohio.

Projected to Expand in Over 1,000 Betting Venues in a Month

Under the terms of the agreement, the initiative will be operational in January 2023, coinciding with the introduction of sports betting in Ohio.

It will see INTRALOT power 700 retail sports betting venues with its technology, with that figure projected to expand to over 1,000 in a few months.

INTRALOT also announced that it had secured a provisional license to run this contract from the Ohio Casino Commission. The final five-year license is anticipated to be awarded at the beginning of 2023, “shortly after” January 1, according to the supplier.

This is not INTRALOT’s initial foray into the state of Ohio. Instead, the supplier has supported the local market for more than a decade. Since 2009, the firm has provided the state with a secure central gaming system, distributing, monitoring, and accounting for all lawful Ohio Lottery games.

Soon, Ohio Will Allow Sports Betting

In the meanwhile, Ohio will legalize sports betting on January 1. The state has pushed for decades to legalize gambling and is now poised to begin sports betting officially.

Considering Ohio’s potential, many industry aficionados are enthusiastic about the debut of this product. Analysts believe that the state has the potential to become one of the largest betting markets in the United States, generating excitement for the launch.

Providing More Betting Products in the State

Now that sports betting is a possibility, the state is issuing licenses to operators and suppliers who will be entitled to provide their products in the state.

For instance, the Ohio Casino Control Commission, the state’s governing body, recently issued a sports gaming supplier license to FansUnite, a sports betting and entertainment company based in British Columbia.

Previously, the authority also authorized the formation of Underdog Sports, one of the most rapidly expanding fantasy sports organizations. Due to this, Underdog will be able to immediately enter the Ohioan betting market.

In contrast, the Australian operator PlayUp was unable to obtain a license due to the possibility of unlawful gambling activities associated with their PlayUp Slots+ product. The Ohio Casino Control Commission stated that it might reconsider its position if the operator rectifies the problems.
