What the New Casino in Chicago Offers?
The timetable established by Bally’s may be delayed as gaming regulators need to perform background checks on everyone associated with the project before granting approval, including major investors and subcontractors.
The Bally’s casino in Chicago will have a hotel with an exhibition hall and 500 guest rooms, 11 eateries, and a theater with 3,000 seats and 4,000 gaming positions when it is finished.
Despite the broadening of Illinois’ gambling options with the creation of six new casinos, only one, the Hard Rock Casino Rockford, has opened its doors to customers so far.
The Current State of Casinos in Illinois
Some council members, such as Ald. Brendan Reilly is opposed to the plan to build casinos in Illinois and voiced concerns over traffic, safety, and Bally’s financial investment in the project.
In 2019, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker put his signature on a bill that significantly broadened the state’s gambling options. The law called for the creation of six new casinos, but as of yet, only one of them has opened its doors to customers.
In November of 2021, the Hard Rock Casino Rockford debuted for business in a location that was just temporary. After submitting its application to several gambling regulators about two years prior to that opening, the establishment finally opened its doors in August.
There is still a long way to go for the casino in Illinois as Bally needs to obtain an operating license from the Illinois Gaming Board. However, the company is working cooperatively with officials, and the process is progressing.
