DraftKings, a sports betting and fantasy sports operator has inaugurated a new technological hub in Las Vegas, breaking the ribbon on the new 90,000-square-foot building in the UnCommons region of the southwest valley.
The new workplace, DraftKings’ second-largest in the United States, houses more than 130 specialized sports trading tables in a stadium-style setting surrounded by multimedia walls. The building will also have a fully equipped restaurant, event space, a unique casino training pit, an interactive putt-view putting green, and amenity areas in addition to 1,000 new DraftKings team members.
DraftKings Increasing Presence and Workforce
DraftKings’ chief people’s officer, Graham Walters, detailed in a statement the company’s collaboration with the UnCommons district that resulted in the establishment of ”a world-class workplace environment.”
At the ceremony, Walters told local news channel KTNV that the firm has been working on the new headquarters for a while as part of its efforts to extend its presence in Las Vegas, where DraftKings is the principal sponsor of the University of Nevada Las Vegas’s Center for Gaming Innovation.
DraftKings, based in Boston, opened its first office in Las Vegas in January 2020, employing around 300 people across customer experience, fraud, casino, sportsbook traders, HR, and IT in a customized environment with collaborative workspaces, workstations, enclosed offices, conference rooms, private lounge areas, and other amenities.
The new stadium opens just in time for one of the most important athletic events on the American calendar, the NCAA March Madness collegiate basketball tournament, which begins this week.
Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, who was also present at the new facility’s inauguration ceremony, was pleased to see DraftKings extend its presence in the city, believing that everyone recognizes the brand and its product.
DraftKings signifies something different to everyone. It’s sports betting, fantasy betting, everything interesting, and it’s always been the lifeblood of Las Vegas,” Goodman added. While she is correct that DraftKings represents all of this, the firm is not permitted to operate a sportsbook in Nevada.
